Common questions

How do I make screenshots move automatically?

In Shoebox, open the setup guide (Settings → Advanced → Show the setup guide again). Tap Add shortcut to add “Save to Shoebox” to the Shortcuts app, then tap Open Shortcuts and, in Automation, turn on When a screenshot is saved. iOS adds it switched off, so this step is needed once.

My screenshots aren't leaving Photos.

• Check that When a screenshot is saved is turned on in Shortcuts → Automation.
• Check Shoebox → Settings → Remove from Photos. With “Never”, screenshots stay in Photos on purpose; with “After 1 Hour” and so on, they leave after that time.
• Screenshots taken in the first minute after you change that setting may stay in Photos. Remove them in Settings → Screenshots in Photos.

Can I keep screenshots in Photos to share them from other apps?

Yes. In Settings, set Remove from Photos to After 1 Hour, After 1 Day or After 1 Week, or Never. Shoebox still saves each screenshot right away.

How do I get a screenshot back into Photos?

Open it in Shoebox and choose Save to Photos. Screenshots removed from Photos also stay in Photos' Recently Deleted album for 30 days.

What happens if I delete Shoebox?

Deleting the app deletes the screenshots stored in it. Save any you want to keep back to Photos first.
